KITCHEN MAKEOVER CONTEST
$5000 DISCOUNT
1. The Buffalo News, Inc, and the Kaz Company are sponsors of this contest using software provided by UPICKEM.
2. No purchase is necessary to win. Eligible entrants may enter on-line through Buffalo.com by clicking on the Kitchen Makeover icon and completing the entry form. Only one entry per contestant is allowed.
3. You must be 18 years of age at the time of entry and you must live in Erie County, New York to be eligible. Entries must be submitted by 11:59PM March 16, 2014 and the winner will be selected by random drawing on or about March 21, 2014. Chances of winning will depend on the number of entries received.
4. Winner will be notified via e-mail. If the winner does not respond within seven (7) days of e-mail notification, or the selected entrant is not eligible for any reason, an alternate winner will be selected. The prize will not be awarded if no eligible entrant can be identified.
5. Employees of the Sponsors, their respective parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, promotional agencies, and the immediate family members thereof are not eligible.
6. The prize is a discount of $5000 for work being performed on winner’s kitchen remodeling pursuant to contract with the Kaz Company for a minimum of $20,000, exclusive of appliances, with the Kaz Company. After a kitchen remodeling presentation by a Kaz Company project developer, the winner has ten (10) days to enter into the minimum $20,0000 contract. The prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other Kaz Company promo or offer. Failing to enter into the required minimum contract will render the $5000 discount null and void.
7. Work on the project must start within six (6) months of signing the contract. Winner is responsible for all payments to the Kaz Company in excess of the $5000 discount.
8. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute the prize for another prize of equal or greater value.
9. The Contest and all related pages, content and code are copyrights of UPICKEM and/or The Buffalo News. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
10. Winner, by acceptance of the prize, waives, releases and discharges The Buffalo News, its parent, affiliates and subsidiaries, their officers, directors, employees, agents, and shareholders from all liability, claims, expenses or cause of action of any kind, caused by or arising out of the contest, the prize or any work performed as a result of the prize.
11. Entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Contest Sponsors. Sponsors retain the right to make changes to these Official Rules. All decisions by Contest Sponsors are final.
12. Winner agrees to allow Sponsors to publish their names and City/Town/ Village of residence. Winner also agrees to allow their photograph to be used by Sponsors and to sign any waiver or release required by Sponsors in conjunction with using the photograph.
13. To the extent allowed by law, The Buffalo News, Inc., reserves the right to use any information related to the Contest, including information concerning Contest entrants, for marketing purposes.
14. Winner is responsible for paying all federal, state, county and local taxes and will be required to complete the IRS Form W-9 when necessary. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold the prize until the W-9 is completed.
15. Sponsors and UPICKEM are not responsible for internet crashes, slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters, or acts of man or God, that impact the Contest.
16. The Contest is not intended for illegal gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for illegal gambling, they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
17. This Contest is void where prohibited by law.
